Job Summary:

As a Project Engineer at SteelFab, you will be introduced to various different aspects of the construction industry while working alongside our Project Management and Estimating teams on various projects. You will build on your experiences and skills by taking on relevant responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Working with the Estimating department to solicit subcontractor pricing on new estimates
  • Performing scope reviews of subcontractor bids and ensure conformance with the project requirements
  • Performing material and labor take-offs using company software
  • Preparing pricing recaps for review by Senior Estimator and VP of Preconstruction
  • Following up with customers on bids that have been submitted
  • Issue requests for information (RFI’s) to clients
  • Maintain shipping and project schedules
  • Writing purchase orders and subcontracts to vendors
  • Preparing and issuing change order request pricing
  • Reviewing design drawing revisions for scope changes
  • Jobsite visits where you will establish relationships with clients and vendors
  • Construction drawing/modeling coordination and submittal review
  • Work with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues
  • Material procurement and production tracking
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

  1. Project Engineer
  2. Assistant Project Manager or Estimator
  3. Project Manager (if previously Assistant Project Manager)
  4. Senior Project Manager or Senior Estimator

Qualifications and Requirements

Required: Minimum 2-year associate degree. High level competency in Bluebeam, PDF’s, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, common computer skills. Valid driver’s license

Preferred:  4-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields. Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, internships or part-time employment
