Job Summary:
As a Document Control Coordinator at SteelFab you will be introduced to various aspects of construction document management, while accountable for high personal organization and a fast-paced schedule. This position works with the document control management team, project managers and bid coordinator. Teamwork and strong communication skills are essential to coordinate the downloading, posting, organizing & recording of construction documents. Individual works with clients and vendors in addition to our staff. A brisk and collaborative work environment rewards those with initiative. You will build on your experiences and skills by taking on several relevant tasks, including:
Essential Job Functions:
- Using a variety of software to handle, organize, and transfer construction documents
- Receiving and prioritizing emails with instructions for daily tasks
- Keeping up with credentials to use customer websites to download and upload drawings electronically and send “transmittals” with list of drawings/contents in files for confirmation.
- Transitioning bid documents to job files, renaming and organizing revisions of drawing files, printing at the direction of and in coordination with project managers & senior staff.
- Communicating with estimators and project managers when there are issues & takes initiative with partners if there are technical problems with access to documents, etc. to resolve.
- Hyperlinking PDF documents using Bluebeam software.
- Working with a positive, flexible attitude in a team setting
- Learning & utilizing that knowledge to self-prioritize work among multiple colleagues
- Assisting running daily UPS, minor errands, scheduling couriers

Qualifications and Requirements:
Required: Minimum 2-year associate degree. High level competency in Bluebeam, or Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Construction records management software such as Tekla or Fabtrol, and computer skills. Valid driver’s license. Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Background Check.
